Mass Pipe - 400 Pipers and Drummers

Now an open secret! Thousands of Scottish Fans from near and far are drawn to Peine in the city park in May.

Musicans and "muscle-men" arrive from all parts of Germany and further afield to take part in the competitions. The bagpipe players and drummers in their colourful kilts meet at the "Gathering" to compete against each other, in formation, as Mini Band competitors or in Solo Competition. Welcome to "The Peine International Pipe Band Championships".

Apart from the musicans and muscle-men there will be various dancing displays by Scottish and Irish dancers a wonderful sight!!

At the evening "Ceilidh" with live music,competitors and visitors are invited to join in and have a party!!

Tug a wa (Tug of War)

On Sunday,under the motto "The Highland Games" strong men (and women!) will compete in "Tossing the Caber","Tug a wa" and Putting the Stone". All visitors are heartily invited to join in!!

Colourful events and stalls can be found around the arena,with Scottish specialities,including Kilts and handcrafts,Whiskies and Whistles and naturally a choice of culinary delights from the Highlands. "Scottish" laddies and lassies can use the opportunity to order a Kilt "made-to-measure" or pick up a few original accessories to enhance their outfit
